It’s no secret that Musk isn’t a huge fan of Agrawal and has publicly attacked him on Twitter due to the number of spam accounts. After almost ten years with the company, Agrawal took over the management in November. last year when co-founder Jack Dorsey unexpectedly resigned. Musk’s feud with Agrawal became quite apparent when he said earlier this year that he had no faith in management. The two executives also traded some public jabs. In May, Musk responded to
a Twitter thread by Agrawal defending the company’s user metrics, by tweeting a poop emoji.

During the legal battle between Musk and Twitter, several text messages from the billionaire were released, revealing that the two had a contentious exchange early in the settlement process, after Musk asked his followers if Twitter was dying. Agrawal confronted Musk via text message. “You’re free to tweet ‘Is Twitter dying?’ or anything else about twitter,” he wrote on April 9, “but it’s my responsibility to tell you that it doesn’t help me improve twitter in the current context of
Musk replied, “What do you have these week?”

And then: “I’m not going to join the board, it’s a waste of time. The following week, in messages with a friend, Musk even mocked Agrawal for vacationing in Hawaii during contract negotiations. “I shouldn’t! Is he in a war room right now?!?” Investor Jason Calacanis sent Musk a message. “Does it count for the occasional Zoom call while sipping fruity cocktails at the Four Seasons?

Equilar’s estimate includes Agrawal’s base salary for one year plus accelerating all stock awards, said an Equilar spokesman, based on Musk’s offer price of $54.20 per share and the terms of the company’s recent proxy statement.
